i’m back… managed to surface from the haze of work and lethargy to write. the past month, i’ve not had much time to sit down and think about the stuff i’ve read elsewhere in the web so no postings.

i found this link while surfing the web and it is something that have been crossing my mind since i’ve started work. it is an article by the design institute of australia (DIA) talking about having a career in design, its pros and cons.

no matter whether you are an experienced designer or a student of design that’s just starting out in the industry… there must have been times when you’ve asked yourself ‘do i really want to be a designer? what makes me a designer? what makes a good designer? am i cut out to be one?’

just finished reading this article “on staying creative” by Dr Keith Robinson and the points he raised resonated with me pretty much so i’m sharing it with you… if you’re in a creative slump at the moment or need to figure out how to increase your creativity, i’ll encourage you to read this.

this particular quote is something i think everyone should think about…

“If you find yourself running a million miles per hour – workworkworrk – just stop, or better yet, plan days and hours that you can focus on doing whatever the heck you want. Use that time to do something fun, something creative, something that has nothing to do with your work.

It’s all to easy to get sucked into your job to the point where you let the rest of your life pass you by. This, in my humble opinion, is not the point of working. I think most people know that, but we tend to forget.”
